How much time does GEO take per week?
Short answer
For a small organization, count on two to four hours per week: one hour to collect questions and observations, one to two hours for a new or updated answer page, and half an hour for the review by a second reader.

Block one moment per week for question intake: from customer questions, support, sales conversations, and AI observations. That is the fuel for everything after.
Pick one question per week to work into an answer page or to enrich an existing page. Keep the tempo deliberately low so you can hold it up without spikes.
The reviewer is not optional
A second person reads every answer page before publication, focused on whether the facts hold up, whether the source is clear, and whether we do not overpromise. This belongs in your schedule.
Without a reviewer, GEO quickly turns into ordinary content production and you lose the reliability that AI assistants actually favor.
When to add more time
With a broader offer or multiple target markets, scale the number of questions per week rather than the complexity per page. Two answer pages a week, with two reviewers, is already a solid pace for an SMB team.
